‘Cloud’ Computing Microsoft Live Free Giveaway

This week Microsoft are giving us something for nothing… Well,  it’s offering software applications through the internet. Google do this already of course but it seems Microsoft now want to get in on the act in an effort to connect windows “more seamlessly” to internet services.

Could we now be seeing the end of packaged software ?

In true Microsoft style they do not fear taking on the likes of Google and not only when it comes to the search engine side of the business. In simple terms Microsoft want to be the leader when it comes to digital information - on pc, on mobile or on the net.

Google and Shoemoney

Matt it’s not a I hate Google post honest !! ,,

Is there anything thing that can be done to help Shoemoney’s blog out, normally I would just use RSS or the search function on Shoemoney’s site, but Dave Dellanave was saying how everything he posted on shoemoney.com never ranked in Google but scraper sites and sites that linked to the blog posts did rank !..

example :

shoemoney dmoz extortion
shoemoney “adsense check”

so what should Shoemoney do ?

a) Reinclusion Request
b) email Matt Cutts
c) 301 all the old pages to a new domain

eBay Express Visible Challenge.

Ok I admit it i’m a bit of an eBay addict, so challenged with the chance to look at their new interface I just had to indulge.  The interface although not so much different to the old one does cause some confusion, both in searching for items and setting up advanced search criteria. Most of the options still seem to be there but finding them is not that easy.

eBays own SERPs have altered and sellers are concerned their stores aren’t getting the visibility in the last two weeks that they once did. eBay Express could well be the culprit then getting maximum exposure and perhaps taking search traffic from the stores ?

It seems the auction giant is doing its best to make even more of a commercial enterprise.

Bodog now Newbodog

Bodog has been forced to move domains to newbodog.com after enom pulled the DNS. this is so fucked up some guy in the US pushed a patent for online bets, which he then took to court, now Bodog are not a US company so they didn’t attend the court appointment, the Judge awards the guy the case by default…. which then he uses judgement to land grab all bodogs domains.. sick or what

added was was just chatting to a friend online and he said

If you can use a judgment to force enom to turn off domains, you could do the same thing to ICANN, which means you could sue anyone in the world and get their site turned off.

now that is scary!

Google Reader v Bloglines

First off, I revisited Google reader after spending a Few hours with Matt Cutts at the Recent SES San Jose, when he asked me when the last time I had actually looked at Google’s rss reader I had to say with a little embarrassment well around 1 month after launch I guess.

So off I went and signed into reader and Matt you where right it is a lot better than the old version in fact I was just about to make it my default rss Reader, but have you seen beta.bloglines.com .. That’s rocking if only you had made me look at reader earlier. .. tough choice now.
